Memlore is a private journal for the days you want to remember and the thoughts you need to put somewhere. It runs on your own machine, works with the network off, and keeps nothing on a server we own.
Why it exists
Most journals ask you to trust a company with the most private writing you will ever do. Memlore starts from the opposite place: the journal is a file on your device, encrypted with your password, and there is no way back into it without that password — not for anyone, including us.
Sync is optional and goes through a cloud folder you already own. AI is optional and can run entirely on your device. Neither is switched on for you.
Who makes it
Memlore is made with ❤️ by Thi, and built in the open on GitHub. It is licensed AGPL-3.0, so you can read exactly how your journal is secured and how your data is handled.
What it promises
- Your journal stays on your device. There is no Memlore server.
- Everything is encrypted before it leaves your machine, with a key only your password unlocks.
- No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking. Not now, not later.
- Memlore stays free. Anything paid will only ever be extras that keep the project going.
